My cravings for red meat typically come as cravings of opportunity, such as when someone else is paying for my meal or when I'm at a buffet where it's being served. Sometimes I eat it, other times I don't. 

The one red meat that I will fix and eat from time to time (mostly on special occasions) is lamb. Few things taste better in my opinion than properly prepared pan-seared lamb. And since sheep are smaller than cattle they have a slightly lower impact on the environment. 

You bring up a good point about laziness / convenience when it comes to choosing what we eat. It's amazing to me how much our desire for convenience can impact all of our habits, not just food-related ones.</description>

I could probably find a way to satisfy myself with spinach and some other source of protein, but sometimes red meat just has the things that my body craves and it is easier to give in than to create a work-around.

I suppose that goes into my American laziness category too.</description>
